Vigo di Fassa is one of the sunniest spots in Val di Fassa. Located at the foot of the Catinaccio mountain range, for centuries it was a legal, administrative and religious point of reference for the valley.
Vigo di Fassa is connected to Bolzano, 35 km away, by Passo Costalunga (also called Passo Carezza or Karerpass).
Vigo di Fassa has plenty of hotels and apartments. From the town centre, a few minute’s cable car ride takes you to Ciampedie, a natural terrace offering unique views of the Dolomites.
To each season its own ways to have fun and relax: in winter, take the cable car to the Catinaccio ski area; in summer, choose among the countless hiking routes in the Catinaccio mountain range (our favourites are Vael, Torri del Vajolet and Antermoia).
Vigo di Fassa also boasts two ancient gothic churches: early 16th century Santa Giuliana, named after the patron saint of the valley, and the parish church of Pieve di San Giovanni (second half of the 15th century), still in use, is a great example of the valley’s spiritual and artistic life.
Treat yourself to a holiday in Vigo di Fassa’s hotels and apartments. You won’t regret it!
